Long time St. Charles bar and grill to close its doors Sunday

       

       If you're a fan of AAA Burgers and More, this weekend will be your last chance to visit. They will close their doors for good Sunday night. The bar and grill located on the corner of Elm and Kingshighway, near Lindenwood University, is famous for their burgers, pizza, and hot wings. AAA's was a favorite hang out for locals and Lindenwood students for nearly two decades.

Mission Taco Joint to open new location at Streets of St. Charles next month

          Mission Taco Joint will be opening a new location at the Streets of St. Charles in mid June according to their facebook page. The new location will be on the south end of the Streets of St. Charles, right behind the QuikTrip. This will be the fourth Mission Taco Joint to open in the St. Louis area. On May 10th a Mission Taco truck arrived to the Streets of St. Charles to give goers of the Beale Street Concert Series a taste of whats to come.

Plans for major construction project for the 94 corridor between 70 and 364

     The City of St. Charles is currently in the design phase of a major $56 Million dollar road project 

for Highway 94 between 70 and 364. The new project will do away with the stop lights along the 3 

mile stretch of 94. The current highway will be replaced with a 4 to 6 lane interstate type road, along with interchanges, overpasses, and one way outer roads. It's also likely that the speed limit will be increased from the current limits of 45 and 55 mph.

The new projects goal is to decrease congestion, improve safety, and spur economic development in the area. It's likely that the project will take place in phases over several years. Phase one could begin as soon as 2019 with a 94 interchange at Muegge Road and Hemsath Road.
